Apple Darwin 7.0 released

Apple Darwin 7. launched

Apple has launched Darwin 7. to designers.

Darwin 7. may be the underlying code fundamentally of Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther), which the organization launched on Friday.

All software designed for Darwin should have the ability to run unmodified on Mac OS X. However Darwin doesn’t include all Mac OS X’s features, like the Cacao and Carbon toolkits – a lot of OS X programs won’t operate on Darwin, Apple stated.

The distribution includes a lot of source projects. The launched form of each Darwin project can be obtained to browse or download like a source archive.

Apple wants Darwin to get the building blocks for an entire, stand-alone open-source operating-system distribution.
